surrender value

surrender value

cash value of a whole life or endowment assurance policy when discontinued. Surrender values are small in the early years of a policy, usually nil, over the first year or two. This is because expenses are highest at the beginning of the term of a policy and in the first few years there has been little time for interest to accrue. Certain contracts such as Term assurances do not acquire a surrender value (IG)

  • valur tat-tisrif [MT] - valur fi flus kontanti ta' polza ta' assigurazzjoni whole life jew endowment li titwaqqaf qabel iż-żmien. Valuri ta' tisrif huma żgħar fl-ewwel snin ta' polza, ġeneralment xejn tul l-ewwel sena jew sentejn. Dan għaliex l-ispejjeż huma ogħla fil-bidu tal-perijodu tal-polza u fl-ewwel ftit snin ftit ikun hemm żmien biex jitilgħu l-imgħaxijiet. ċerti kuntratti, bħal assigurazzjonijiet għal żmien fiss, ma jakkwistawx valur ta' tisrif (IG)
